Having grown up in Barry, South Wales, Leighton studied at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and subsequently completed an MA at Falmouth University.

Since then, Leighton has gained over 15 years of experience in the Camera Department on numerous Feature Film and TV Drama productions, working his way up the ranks from Trainee to Camera Operator, learning his craft from a number of luminary and award-winning Cinematographers and Camera Operators.

Having trained in Steadicam Operating with both Tiffen and the GBCT, Leighton owns and operates a full GPI Pro steadicam kit, with bases in Cardiff, in South Wales, and in London and is able to travel to any destination across the UK and further afield.
